NSFW - A Cold Cold Night in ProvidenceIf you read my posts you will have become familiar with some of the characters that I affectionately call my subjects. Most are friends or at least the types of people that I'd like to hang out with in an abandoned building or in the streets of a freezing city. T has been a friend and subject for me for years and is just one of the coolest people i know. Brave, smart, and with a sense of adventure that should be bottled and sold. I was scheduled to be in Boston for work when I realized that T would be in Providence for her job. A message was sent. A message was replied to. And the images that follow are the proof that suffering for art is sometimes worth it. At least to me. Of course I got to keep all my clothes on even as I knelt in the snow in front of pillars and canals.... The shots were taken with a Nikon D810 controlling two speedlights wirelessly via the Nikon CLS system. One SB-910 speedlight was in a Hexi24 softbox with the grid. It's become my go to for a soft directed light. The other was bare to allow me to mix soft and harder light.
