This year has been a tough one.  It started with me standing in the rain as they took my brother away to the medical examiner's office. 

Unfortunately he wouldn't be the last person in my life that I lost way too young this year. 

Just days before the Alone In A Crowd benefit show in Philly for Howie the world lost Alex Brown. I only met Alex a couple times over the years but his music was in my ear for my entire adult life. Side By Side, Project X, and of course Gorilla Biscuits. 

One of the most memorable moments I've had in 30+ years of going to hardcore shows was Jules, Carl, Lars, and Rob stopping in the middle of Living a Lie where Jules would scream "Alex!" - Jules quietly said "Alex" and waited for the stage dives to stop and the crowd to go silent for a moment. It was an eerie moment that I'll never forget. 

My video is shaky. The sound is bad. You can hear me at times screaming over the vocals and the music. I'm not sharing this as a work of art but as a document of a moment....
