It's been a while since I posted here. Life gets in the way of living. But I was given the opportunity to shoot two classic metal bands on September 16th at the Nikon At Jones Beach Theater. Thanks to Mike Corrado (check him out) and Live Nation for giving me the chance to shoot Anthrax and Motörhead.
The night began with one of the highlights of the year for me - shooting Anthrax and the United States Veterans Motorcycle Club. Bunch of great guys on both sides of the handshakes. I've done these types of events in the past and very rarely does the band seem to actually want to interact. The guys in Anthrax made enough time to shake every hand, sign, and give real smile.
thanks also to the guys at WBAB for setting up the meet.
Anthrax played a great set and I wish I had more than the three songs allowed to capture the set. For a bunch of guys floating around the 5o year mark they brought great energy to the stage equaling that of many bands decades their junior. Opening with fan favorites Madhouse and Caught in The Mosh the band finished my three song limit with one of my favorite covers - Got the Time (originally by Joe Jackson) which gave bassist Frank Bello a chance to shine.
Shot with the Nikon D4, D750, Nikkor 50 1.4, and the 20 1.8.
