I grew up around horses. Never owned one but they lived in the neighborhood. I took care of a couple when i was 18 for the summer. But I had never photographed them. I knew next to nothing about horse racing other than having the pleasure of reading an article by Nikon Ambassador Dave Black, then getting to meet a couple of amazing horse photographers in Skip Dickstein, and Adam Coglianese. Between the three it almost felt like it would be too easy. WRONG! Lol. The conditions, the horses, the light, the jockeys, the locations are all changing and unpredictable. With the knowledge I'd managed to extract from the three I think I managed to capture a few decent shots with the help of the D4S which honestly does most of the work.
