My poor daughter has been exposed to blinks of light since the day she was born. I'm lucky that she most of the time enjoys the process. I hope that someday she looks back at her "portfolio" with pride and realizes that no matter what i shoot, where i shoot, where the images end up, that she was and will always be my muse and number one model.

People sometimes ask me if it's hard to get her to pose and the answer is yes and no depending on how you decide to interpet the question. the key point is that rarely do i ask her to do anything. I might encourage her to continue to do something if I see her doing something and I think it will make a great image but we really never walk out the door saying "lets make a photo today" The real key to the situation is that I choose to walk around with a camera, a lens, and a flash 90% of the time and kick myself in the butt for the 10% of the time that I don't. Like poker - i tend to focus on my losses far more than i focus on my successes. But the secondary concept to that is that I learn far more from my failures than my successes (which could have just been luck or timing vs my failures which are primarily based on failing to prepare)

All of the images here were shot with D810 or D750 and a single SB-910 with no modifier. Flash was set off using the pop-up flash as commander but turned off for the exposure. iTTL was used in all instances as I was moving around and so was Zoe in most of the images...
